In The Future, Will Your Phone Control Security?

With technologies that can recognize and respond to facial gestures and movements, a largely growing question is where the age-old notion of home security will fit in with the rapid expansion of technological innovation and its uses. Smartphones are being designed with locking features that are intended to work on a facial-recognition basis, which would hypothetically allow or deny access of the phone to strangers or people you do not want. How this feature ties in with home security then becomes quite interesting:

All of the information about who you are that allows your phone to be secure for you can be stored on a cloud and traced for actions. For example, if you work for an organization, rather than to swipe a passkey an administrator could check to see if you have come inside the building by the location of your phone. If you are a homeowner, you could use this same technology to keep your doors closed when you are not around and get instant updates on your home while you are away.

Obviously, there are still quite a few privacy details and access restrictions that would need to be worked out for this fantasy to become a concrete system, but the idea that our phone’s security system could function for far greater security needs is an exciting idea to the world of locksmiths and for both a locksmith shop in North NJ or a locksmith shop in China.
